Took the wife up to Roadford for the big Reactive windsurf demo to get her on the water for the first time in the UK and to try out some boards. Unfortunately the wind was off shore so she didn't venture out but she did buy herself a Mistral N-Trance.

I was in the market for a freetyle board so I took the opportunity to try a Tabou Freestyle 100 with a 6.5 NP Expression. The board has a nice feature of a domed deck underfoot that flattens out toward the rails - excellent for getting upwind. Only got planing a few time as the wind was very gusty but it seems a nice board. Tried out the F2 Chilli 109 next which got going more due to the greater volume and lighter rig (had a 100% carbon RDM on a Gaastra) but didn't have as nice a feel as the Tabou. Have asked Dave to reserve me the Tabou - an expensive day.

Good to try some new kit but it was a shock to the system to sail in crappy lake conditions after a perfect morning on the sea.
